VSSS Alumni in Service — Gaja Cyclone Relief (November 2018) In November 2018, when Cyclone Gaja caused severe devastation in Nagapattinam and surrounding areas, the VSSS Alumni Association came together with compassion and commitment. A team of alumni personally travelled to Nagapattinam, raising funds and distributing essential relief materials to affected families. The noble initiative was flagged off by Mrs. Gunavathy Esther, Principal of VSSS, marking a proud moment for the school and its alumni. A special mention goes to Ms. S. Kaaviya, daughter of Mr. V.G. Senthil Kumar (Alumnus), who touched everyone’s hearts by donating her entire savings for this noble cause — a true reflection of the values nurtured at VSSS. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and resources to support this humanitarian effort. This selfless service beautifully represents the spirit of unity, kindness, and social responsibility that lives on in our VSSS Alumni family. Proud to be VSSS Alumni!
‘Chocolate Krishna’ Drama Fundraiser — 2008

On 22nd November 2008, the VSSS Alumni Association organized a special staging of the popular play ‘Chocolate Krishna’, performed by the renowned team led by Mr. Crazy Mohan. The event was a fundraiser to support the medical expenses of one of our alumni, reflecting the association’s commitment to standing by its members in times of need. The evening was graced by esteemed Chief Guests Mr. Govind Mohan, GM – IOFS, and Mr. Chandran, Hon'ble Chief Magistrate, Thiruvallur. The event also featured a felicitation ceremony, honoring retired teachers and students for their academic achievements during the year. Adding vibrance to the evening, current students showcased cultural performances, making the event lively and memorable. The program was further enriched by the esteemed presence and coordination of Mr. Radhakrishnan, Mr. James, and Ms. Omana, whose support made the event a resounding success.

The 35th Year Celebrations of Vijayanta School were grandly held on 22nd January 2011 at the Vijayanta Auditorium, marking a remarkable milestone in the school’s legacy. The event was graced by Mr. Vinayagam, Chairman of VSSS Schools, as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included Mr. Nandakumar, IRS (also a proud alumnus of the school) and Mr. E. Sarath Babu, Youth Icon 2008, social activist, and CEO of FoodKing. The celebration highlighted 35 years of excellence in education, achievements, and alumni contributions, bringing together students, alumni, and well-wishers to honor the school’s enduring legacy.
VSSS Alumni Summer Cricket Tournament 2009

The VSSS Alumni Association successfully organized the “VSSS Alumni Summer Cricket Tournament 2009”, held from 01.05.2009 to 03.05.2009 at the HVF Ajeya Stadium, Avadi, Chennai – 600 054. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from alumni teams, aiming to foster camaraderie and a spirit of healthy competition. The event was also organized to create awareness and encourage sporting activities in and around the Avadi community, promoting fitness, teamwork, and community bonding. In a spirited final, the “Eleven Ducks” team, led by Mr. Prabhakaran, emerged as the champions and received a cash prize of ₹3,000/- along with a winner’s rolling trophy. The “Tough Guys” team, captained by Mr. Gopinath, finished as runners-up, earning a cash prize of ₹2,000/- and a runner’s rolling trophy. This memorable event stands as a proud chapter in the VSSS Alumni’s efforts to nurture both sportsmanship and community engagement in Avadi.
VSSS Alumni Cycle Rally 2009

The VSSS Alumni Association organized a Cycle Rally on 22nd August 2009, starting from Avadi Roundtana to Marina Beach Light House. The rally was conducted to create awareness about global warming and to promote eco-friendly practices among the public. The objective of the event was to educate people on the benefits of using bicycles for shorter distances, opting for public transportation for longer commutes, and encouraging vehicle pooling (car/bike sharing) to conserve fuel and reduce carbon emissions. This initiative also aimed to create awareness on the importance of the green revolution and sustainable living practices for a cleaner, healthier environment.
